Jacob Makhubu, son of a South African mother and Nigerian father, is an executive in a Nigerian-owned company based in Johannesburg, and longs for New York’s more worldly pleasures.
Unexpectedly, Jacob inherits a family, a business empire and an African dream when his boss and benefactor reveals himself to be his father. Jacob promises to fulfil the old man’s dream of building an empire while keeping the family united. But this instantly pits Jacob against powerful enemies as well as his new-found family with its long-held business traditions.
