THE JUNGLE
1912. Alberto, a young Portuguese monarchist, flees from his country and will soon find himself in the deep Brazilian jungles. In the midst of a hostile nature, Indians and cheetahs. Adaptation means survival. He becomes skilled at tapping rubber trees and, in spite of the slave-like conditions of his work, he also learns about the unpolished friendship that bonds the tappers.
Later on, the chief invites him to work at the trading post, far from the plantations, and this is something he cannot refuse. While in the post he falls in love with Dona Yaya, the wonderfully beautiful trader's wife. She is also seduced by him, and all it takes are a few notes from a piano. But such love is blind and unaware of the possible savagery of such places, and the rage of the overseer.
