The Azores Islands, set halfway between Europe and America are still one of the best kept natural paradises left on Earth. In 1924, Portuguese writer Raúl Brandão left for the Azores on board of a steam cruiser. During that journey he wrote one of the best travel books of Portuguese Literature. Portuguese filmmaker Vicente Jorge Silva leads us through the Islands, following the steps of Brandão, 85 years after his inaugural journey. What forces lie there, in the middle of the Atlantic, in a land of eternal volcanoes, deep dark forests, blue lagoons and fearless whalers?
