VICTORY OR DEATH: THE FALL OF PORTUGUESE INDIA

The fall of Portuguese India portrayed essentially from the military point of view. The gap between the official position and the situation on the site clearly indicated the government's estrangement from reality. On one side was the Portuguese garrison -3500 men armed with World War I equipment, and on the other a modern army of 70.000 men backed by Air Force and Navy.
Against orders from Lisbon to resist until the end, the military decided to surrender. Many life were spared, but these officers and soldiers were considered traitors and treated as such.
