About the Work of Olga Roriz

Olga Roriz, the creator of contemporary Portuguese dance is renowned for her long and wide-ranging career. She was invited as a choreographer by the director of the Gulbenkian Ballet Company. From 1976 to 1992 she was given the opportunity to develop her creative potential. Throughout these years she has put together more than twenty productions, some of which represented land-marks in the company history.
In early 1995 Olga Roriz founded her own Dance Company.
Rui Simões, known internationally as the director of The Good People of Portugal, and a dancer himself, has always been fascinated by the creations of Olga Roriz.
